There are different hotels. And then there is Cherry.
Cherry Sculpture Hotel, in Paul, Covilhã, has been recognised by LUXlife with the award “Most Innovative Concept Boutique Hotel 2026 – Portugal”, as part of the Resorts & Retreats Awards 2026.
It is an important recognition for a concept that was never designed to be like the others.
Cherry was born from a simple idea: take one of the region’s most recognisable symbols and turn it into a hospitality experience. The result? Guests can actually stay inside a giant cherry-shaped sculpture.
It is different. It is memorable. And now, it has international recognition.
The hotel features 13 themed rooms, two suites and eight giant cherry sculptures, complemented by a swimming pool, restaurant and local experiences.
All of this was created in Paul, in Cova da Beira, with a direct connection to the territory and the identity of the region.
LUXlife’s distinction recognises precisely this distinctive concept.
For Cherry’s management, the award represents recognition of a vision: to create much more than accommodation and develop an experience genuinely connected to the place where it was born.
And there is one thing Cherry continues to do very well: stand out.
A giant cherry. A hotel. An experience that does not go unnoticed. Now, also an internationally recognised concept.
